Most Important! Before your first use, please read all of these instructions and then do at least two, preferably more than two, dry runs without loading any herb, it will not harm your VapCap! This is very important to become familiar with the operation of the unit and prevent unintentional combustion. You will combust a few, we all do! You may only hear one click on heat up but just about always 2 clicks as it cools down. Try pressing the tip of your VapCap onto cold glass or metal, you will hear 2 clicks as it cools. If your lungs are large enough you should be able to maximize your vapor intake by drawing on your pen until your hear the "cool-down" clicks. It is vital that you let these cool down clicks happen before you reheat your Cap. If you don't, it won't be able to click on heat up and you won't know when to remove the heat = combustion! If you do, should we say, when you do combust you will want to split your pen and use a cotton bud and a dab of ISO to clean the soot out of the inside of the pen tip, just under the screen. If you don't all your following re-heats and draws will taste like it did when it combusted, it's not nice so give it a quick clean and always use DynaWax to carefully assemble your pen without damaging your dry O-Rings. Wipe on some wax so you can slide the tip back onto the pen shaft easily, if you don't use wax you will eventually tear an O-Ring. That's why it's important to grab a DynaKit for all your spares.
The VapCap is unlike any other vaporizer, so give it a few tries empty to get the feel of its unique temperature-indicating click. Heat the VapCap in a quiet area, listen and feel so you know what you are looking for. If you are using a torch lighter, this should not take more than 5 or 6 seconds. Heat the middle of the cap not the end and rotate while heating. If more than 6 seconds go by and you don’t hear the click, stop heating and let it cool down.
If you severely overheat your VapCap it can be permanently damaged. It is very important you hear the cool down click, or allow it to cool to the touch, before heating for the next cycle. Repeat this procedure several times to get the feel of how this little unit operates.
When you are ready for the first use, let it cool down, then remove the cap from the VapCap.
Fill the VapCap chamber with your herb of choice. This can be done easily by pushing the VapCap into a Stash Tin with you pre-ground material and twisting. Do not fill the removable Cap, be sure to fill the VapCap, the end of the pen under the Cap called the Tip, then the cap goes over the Tip, make sure it can spin and isn't stuck! Pre-grinding your material is NOT essential but recommended, like with any other conduction vaporizer. If you prefer to grind, keep it coarse. Finely ground material will get through the diffuser disc (screen) and into the unit (you will get herb in your mouth). The best way is to give it a quick grind so it's not too fine but is ground.
Now you have loaded the oven, place the cap back on the VapCap. (The VapCap being the pen itself).
Heat up the metal cap of your VapCap while rotating it, with the flame or heat source applied to the last third of the metal cap, hold your lighter a few inches away with the tip of the flame on the side of the cap. (please watch some videos on heating). Try to only apply heat to the side of the cap and not the end. This is not like lighting a smoking device like a pipe. You want to heat the walls of the oven so conduction heating will heat up your herb to vaporization temperature. The Click happens when that temp has been reached, if you continue to heat it will pass vaporization temp and combust, you will get a lung full of heavy duty smoke, it will happen so don't be put off, once you master this device you will be able to avoid combustion and really enjoy this amazing vape pen. You can heat past the click but learn this later once you have mastered the pen itself.
Continue rotating and heating the cap until you hear and or feel a click - this means the VapCap is ready! Now hit it and give it a really decent long draw.
Draw on the mouthpiece. Experiment with it! If you draw with the air hole completely plugged the flow will seem somewhat restricted. This is normal. Some find they get the best result by taking a long, slow steady draw with the hole completely open, and others will intermittently or lightly cover the air/vapor mix port. The way air flows through the VapCap cools the vapor to provide a smooth experience. Don't waste time looking for the holes after the click, just start drawing on it and roll the pen in your fingers until your hear and feel the resistance change, you will find your own favorite method over time, everyone has their own way of using the air holes, it's best to experiment until you are happy with the results. Remember, you will only get a few, maybe 2-3 decent draws on one oven load, sometimes a few more. We find blocking the airports completely and doing a slow long draw until you hear the cool down clicks is the best way but everyone has there favorite method.
Keep drawing as desired until you hear the click again, this means the VapCap has cooled down. Usually you will hear 2 cool down clicks.
When the vapor production diminishes, it is easy to reactivate.
Make sure the VapCap has re-clicked “to cool” before reheating for the next cycle.
If you are not sure if it has re-clicked, gently blow on the end to cool it or hold on a cold surface that won't burn. It may take up to 1 minute to reset.
When there is no longer any desirable vapor produced, and the cap has clicked “to cool”, remove the cap. The ABV material can be either blown out the end, or the little tang on the cap is also a wonderful “digger outer.”
Reload for another round of simple and wonderful vapor. Used correctly, the VapCap will produce pure vapor, it is a True Vaporizer.
Tips:
- It is recommended that you use a single flame butane torch style lighter with your VapCap. Multi-Flame lighters work but tend to combust a lot!
- Wait until you hear or feel the reset click or at least 30 seconds after the VapCap stops producing vapor to reheat.
- Stop heating your VapCap as soon as you hear the click until you get to know each other better.
- You can vary the intensity of the flavor by using the air/vapor adjustment port.
- Depending on your personal preference and heat source, as well as how many cycles since the VapCap was loaded, you may want to apply heat for 1-2 seconds after the click. This will provide for a different level of roasted flavor.

DO NOT APPLY HEAT FOR MORE THAN 3 SECONDS PAST THE CLICK! OVERHEATING WILL PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE VAPCAP!
- The end of the VapCap gets very hot during and following use. Do not touch the hot end until it has cooled. Also please do not put the hot end into your mouth. Yes it can happen!
- The VapCap can be safely put back in its DynaStash or reloaded after the cool down click is heard.
- If you don't have your DynaStash handy, you can remove the lid from your grinder, flip it over and stand your pen on the magnet cap down.
The 2020 M DynaVap Pen is quite small and is easily concealed in your hand, when cool!
The DynaVap 2020 M Pen is made up of 4 major parts as seen above. It is very easy to dismantle and clean. It doesn't screw together, it pushes together as you slide the stem over the O-rings on the Tip. The O-rings are usually dry and can tear or rip if you force it, this is where you need a dab of DynaWax. Just wipe a small amount on your O-rings to lubricate them first. Then it will side right on with ease.
DynaVap have been putting out a new VapCap (Dynavap Pen) every year, the 2020 M is the latest in the series. The 2020 M has the dual air ports, 2 slots. You don't need to spot them before you draw on the pen, you will find them by simply listening and feeling the resistance as you roll the pen with your finger tips, when the ports are uncovered the resistance is very low and you can hear the whistling of the ports. Many people like to draw hard with the airports closed about 80% and then uncover them completely for the last few seconds, look Mum, no hands! The dual airports are better to use than the one hole, it's very easy to block just one of them and it doesn't matter if it's your fingers or your thumb over the airports, as long as you can roll it back and forward to change the airflow.
